Our Story

The idea for Encepta was born when one of its founders, Devan Bouchard, joined the Alacrity Canada accelerator program after completing his Master of Engineering at UVic.

At the time, most companies engaged in telecommunication infrastructure services relied on manual verification to validate the necessary telecom network design data used in decision making. As a result, they were unable to generate future operational and strategic expertise required to maximize the value for their customers. Devan saw that there was an opportunity for a nimble and efficient provider of telecom services that would be primarily driven by data.

Soon after joining Alacrity, Devan along with his co-founder Hadi Firouzi launched Encepta, supported by Wesley Clover, a global investment management firm, Alacrity Canada, entrepreneurship@UBC Seed Fund and angel investment. 

Since inception, Encepta has been doing things differently. By making customer satisfaction and speed a priority, our company has been able to provide infrastructure solutions — whether it is project management, planning or design — to telecommunications, utilities and municipalities across Canada. 

At the same time, with the focus on data aggregation and R&D, Encepta has excelled at creating positive feedback loops for all clients, making critical processes more efficient with every use. 

Today, Encepta is part of the RAM Consulting Team. This consolidation of technical expertise creates a significant and complete service offering in design, inspection, and ultimately, comprehensive project management.

Encepta continues to invest in innovation that helps unify outside plant infrastructure data, allowing for accelerated decision making and network expansion in every market.
